Oasis Health has a team of highly qualified chiropractic professionals. Our chiropractors work to achieve optimum balance in your system and reach your health potential.
The aim of Chiropractic is to achieve balance throughout the entire body. A balanced spine allows a healthy body through its influence on our nervous system, which controls every organ, cell and tissue in the body. Chiropractic treatment allows your nervous system to flow freely and helps your organs to function at the best of their ability.
Good health requires healthy choices and regular maintenance. Chiropractors use gentle adjustments to your spine and pelvis, cranium (head) or limbs to restore normal movement, relieve pain and reduce any pressure or blockage to your nerves.
Paediatric Chiropractic is a non-invasive, drug free way to solve many health issues with children. It is amazing how our kid’s first journey, through the birth canal, can have them arrive out of balance. From there, as we know, there are endless activities that could result in a young one’s spine, cranium and body needing an adjustment.
Nervous system issues that arise in newborn babies can result from in-utero constraints and the birth process and can affect the way your baby turns their head to breastfeed, it may restrict their shoulder and neck mobility, can lead to plagiocephaly (flat head) from the way the baby was lying in utero and spinal, cranial and peripheral joints may also be affected during the birth process.
At Oasis Health, we are very passionate about providing the best care for your newborn babies and children. We make your children feel comfortable in the paediatric room with plenty of toys to play with, books to read and the kiddies colouring table. There is even a
clownfish adjusting table for little toddlers which they can climb up on all by themselves!
Newborn Babies, Toddlers, School-age Children, teenagers & young adults can benefit from Chiropractic Treatment.
Gentle, safe paediatric techniques may help in the treatment of many general childhood challenges. A better functioning nervous system will allow for a stronger healthier body and it will allow for optimal nervous system and organ function. Asthma, poor digestion, poor movement, bed wetting, glue ear, painful joints & poor balance are some of the examples that may well indicate a nervous system issue that can be addressed.
How Active is Your Baby? Is your baby rolling over to both sides, crawling when they should, walking and talking when they should? Does your child have the appropriate muscle tone and strength for their age? Crawling is the essential pathway to an active child. A baby’s nervous system may be disrupted if they are displaying bum shuffling, if they are crawling dragging one leg behind, or if they are rolling over to one side but not to the other side and chiropractic assessment and care can help with your baby’s development.
A woman's body goes through many changes during pregnancy. Combined with a growing baby and uterus, the woman's pelvis becomes increasingly unstable as the pregnancy evolves. Not surprisingly, this very often leads to lower back pain, and a myriad of other discomforts.
Chiropractic adjustments and myofascial release techniques are a safe and effective treatment for pregnant mums. It will help to make the pregnant mother more comfortable and keep her revived during the journey.
Regular chiropractic care during your pregnancy can help balance your pelvis and prepare the lumbopelvic region and create space for the birth process. Webster technique uses sacral analysis and chiropractic adjustments to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation or sacro-iliac joint dysfunction. Release of the uterine ligaments and their attachment points and release of the surrounding soft tissue membranes helps to alleviate stress on the pelvis. Babies often lie transverse, posterior or breech and this may be stressful for the baby to exit during the birth process and may make the baby more susceptible to trauma to shoulder or hips during the birth process.
Oasis Health offers specific sports chiropractic treatment to athletes of all ages and ability. The focus of sports chiropractic is to provide care in the conservative management, rehabilitation and performance optimization of the neuromusculoskeletal system for athletes.
Rehabilitation is the focus on recovery and strengthening after an injury. It incorporates assessment, therapy, re-assessment and ultimately preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of re-injury.
Most athletes will want to return to playing and competing as soon as possible, however an effective program will involve conversations between player, coaches, parents and medical team to determine when the athlete is ready and able to return to play.
Oasis Health has a wide variety of tools to aid and facilitate the road to recovery. Most importantly, the Chiropractors at Oasis Health work with their patients to maintain peak physical condition, as well as the treatment of specific injuries. The better shape your spine is in, the less likely you are to suffer from injuries and the better performance you will achieve.
Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), is a chiropractic technique that focuses on optimising the relationship between the sacrum or pelvis (base of the spine) and the occiput (base of the skull).
The pelvis forms the foundational support of the human body. Not only does the spine hold us upright, it also supports the head and upper body, enables the transfer of weight between our legs, supports all internal organs, and provides an anchor point for our muscles.
The spine is an integral part of our nervous system. The nervous system controls the messages passed between the brain and distributes them throughout the entire body, to cells, tissues, organs, and muscles. The nervous system can only function normally when the pelvis is stable and the bodies structures and balanced.
Lifestyle stresses, tight or poorly functioning muscles, physical demands of day to day life can affect the bodies structural stability and produce effects throughout the body.
Blocks, or wedges are utilised during treatment to correct spinal alignment and tune the nervous system. Correctly positioned blocks utilise your own body weight to gently and subtly enable the corrections required. With regular care, this technique helps reestablish healthier spinal and nervous system function.
SOT chiropractic care is a safe, gentle, and highly beneficial approach to improving physical comfort, enhancing nervous system function, and achieving optimal health.
In its most basic explanation Kinesiology, or muscle response testing, works on muscle groups to identify organs and systems, which may not be functioning to optimum levels.
Anything that causes stress to a person also causes weakness in their muscles. Once armed with the knowledge of exactly what is contributing to a person’s health issue the therapist then works at removing the imbalances and releasing neurological blockages, which can inhibit the body’s natural immune system from functioning effectively.
Kinesiology can assist in retraining the body to respond in a more positive way, encouraging better absorption of nutrients and an overall improvement of immune system function and general health.
In the womb and in early life, when the decision-making process has not fully developed, your brainstem has several reflexes called ‘primitive’ or ‘neonatal’ reflexes. They help you to grow properly and safely. For example, they help you in the birthing process, breastfeeding and gripping onto things.
As you mature these reflexes are no longer needed so they take a ‘back seat’ and the higher brain takes control. This is an essential and normal stage of your development, allowing you to perform the more complex tasks required in classroom learning, movement control and social interactions.
However, due to birth trauma or developmental restrictions these reflexes might remain dominant. This means that your nervous system will automatically react inappropriately and undesirably in certain situations. This will adversely affect your brain development, learning and behaviour. This is Retained Neonatal Reflex.
Using specific techniques developed by Australian Chiropractors and now taught all over the world, we can assist the integration of these reflexes that could be holding your bright children back.
Emotions such as fear, anger, grief, and many others can negatively affect us long after the original event that caused them. When our body fails to “let go” of these emotions we can find ourselves with unexplained aversions, self-sabotaging behaviours, destructive beliefs, phobias, and many chronic physical problems. We use an approach called Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) to identify and help you let go of “stuck” emotional patterns.
If we’re in a weakened state due to poor nutrition, stress or physical trauma, everyday emotions may not resolve naturally. Later in our lives when we experience a similar situation, the old emotional response kicks in.
We rarely see the link between the past event and our present situation. NET can help identify the unresolved real (or imagined) event and help your body release its lingering emotional charge. For good!
People used to think emotions resided entirely in their brain. Now we know other parts of the body can hold emotions too. Ever felt butterflies in your stomach before a speech, referred to something as “pain in the neck” or felt a “lump in your throat”? Clearly, emotions happen in our body, not just our brain?
Using NET, we find these stuck, negatively charged emotions stored in the body and help you release them. It’s fast and fun. And it can dramatically improve your health. Finding and balancing these stuck memory loops is done with the help of simple muscle testing. This helps determine if your body is in harmony with a particular concept or idea which is linked to an unresolved emotional event. NET is a safe, effective and natural way to instantly resolve longstanding problems that have an emotional component.
Myofascial release Technique utilises soft tissue & fascia releases of muscle & ligamentous tissue which improves mobility, reduces pain by relaxing contracting musculature, improves blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles.
This technique is very gentle but extremely effective. Many patients seek myofascial and trigger point therapy treatments after losing flexibility or function following an injury or if experiencing ongoing back, shoulder, hip, neck pain or any soft tissue area causing pain.
Some other conditions where myofascial release therapy may be used include Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) disorder, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia or migraine headaches.
Pain can be generated from skeletal muscle or connective tissues that are bound down by tight fascia. The restriction or contraction inhibits blood flow to the muscle and gets worse without physical treatment.
Cold Level Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and is thought to help accelerate the healing process. It can be used on patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic
conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality.
Cold lasers are handheld devices used by the clinician and are often the size of a flashlight. The laser is placed directly over the injured area for 30 seconds to several minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated and the dose provided by the cold laser unit. During this time, the non-thermal photons of light that are emitted from the laser pass through the skins layers (the dermis, epidermis, and the subcutaneous tissue or tissue fat under the skin). Once the light energy passes through the layers of skin and reaches the target area, it is absorbed and interacts with the light sensitive elements in the cell. This process can be compared to photosynthesis in plants - sunlight is absorbed by plants, which is then converted to usable energy so that the plant can grow. When cells absorb this light energy, it initiates a series of events in the cell that is theorized to eventually result in normalizing damaged or injured tissue, a reduction in pain, inflammation, edema and an
overall reduction in healing time by increasing intracellular metabolism.

In its most basic explanation kinesiology is the use of muscle testing, or neuro-muscular biofeedback, as an effective tool to identify what is causing stress, weakness, or symptoms in our body. It can also assist in the identification of what is needed to increase strength and resilience or reduce symptoms.
Anything causing stress to a person will show up as a weakness in their muscle responses. This provides a sensitive tool for the practitioner to be able to identify what is affecting your wellbeing. The information gathered is diverse and holistic and will be different for every person. Chronic or unresolved stressors can undermine the function of our organs and systems, can cause our immune system to become overreactive, which can result in countless different signs and symptoms.
Stressors can come from a wide variety of areas such as physiological (biochemical),
musculoskeletal, dietary, emotional or energy/electrical issues, these can include nutritional excesses or deficiencies, intolerances, immune issues, gut/microbiome health or digestive enzyme issues, malabsorption, metabolism (converting food into energy), detoxification issues, inflammation, parasites, bacteria/fungi/mould/candida overgrowth, viruses, hormone or neurotransmitter production, protein production (including DNA and RNA – the bodies building blocks) food, chemical, heavy metal, or environmental toxins, airborne particles, physical or emotional stressors and traumas, and many more.
Once armed with the knowledge of exactly what is contributing to your personal health issue the therapist can then establish a holistic treatment plan tailored specifically to you, to assist in retraining your body to respond in a more positive way through removal of neurological blockages, reducing stressors inhibiting your body’s natural healing or causing your signs and symptoms, improving gut health and absorption of nutrients, immune health, and building an education around a variety of dietary and lifestyle factors,
specific to your needs, to encourage effective long-term healing and wellness.

Acupuncture, located within the broader field of Chinese Medicine, is part of an extensive and complex system of theory and practice that has been developed and refined over more than two thousand years.
The holistic perspective of acupuncture is based on the idea that no single part can be understood except in its relation to the whole. A symptom must be viewed as part of the totality of the person’s entire bodily pattern, as well as the person’s place in an often complex material and psychological-emotional world.
Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile, single-use, disposable needles into specific sites (acupuncture points) along the body’s energy pathways (meridians) to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of energy, or Qi, through the body.
Acupuncture can benefit you in many areas of your life such as:
It is an alternative therapy focusing on drug-free pain relief.
Treatment may involve therapies such as:
Nicola Unite offers Psychotherapy support to young people and adults. She approaches each client as a uniquely wonderful person capable of their own healing.
As an IFS - Internal Family Systems (Level 1) therapist who has also trained in ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Nicola customises her client’s sessions based on individual need and personal engagement. Nicola’s 20 years of experience in school settings has allowed her to understand and resonate with young people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and needs. She has also worked closely with parents for many years, and she is happy to work with clients around a range of parenting issues - noting that she is not able to see child and parent as individuals, simultaneously. Nicola is also a mindfulness educator and breathwork practitioner. Nicola uses these modalities in sessions where appropriate with client permission.
Counselling & Psychotherapy can help with a variety of challenges:
Nicola trained in a unique breathwork modality known as Facilitated Breath Repatterning under the mentorship of Edward Dangerfield, a pioneer in the field of scientific research development of Conscious Connected breathwork as a healing modality. This modality, in a clinical and safe environment, allows the client to connect with their breath, facilitated by Nicola through vocal cues, music, and light body work.
In this one hour and 15 mins process, clients use a breathing technique which allows unprocessed or interrupted patterns in the client’s life to surface and resolve through a repatterning of habitualised and unconscious breathing patterns. The process is completed by a deep relaxation and integration for body and mind.
Nicola returns to Bali regularly as a professional development practice. She has seen the deeply transformative effects this technique has had on a variety of clients around the world, and also on her own journey. Nicola’s perspective on this practice is that it must be facilitated in a safe container so that clients are able to access their potential depth of experience with trust.
Nicola is available for 15 min pre-consultation calls. This allows you the opportunity to find out more about counselling, breathwork and Nicola. It is a safe avenue to ask questions you may have.

Dry Needling is an alternative method adapted from the older practices of Acupuncture.
An increasing number of practitioners from Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists are all using dry needling to treat musculoskeletal pain.
Research has shown its ability to decrease pain and improve the patients pressure pain threshold.
Dry Needling is mainly used to treat varying musculoskeletal injuries, especially sports injuries and is known to compliment soft tissue work in reducing inflammation and speeding up the recovery process.
Reflexology is based on the principle that different points on the feet correspond to different areas in the body. Reflexologists use their thumbs, fingers, and knuckles on the feet, aiming to restore balance in the body. It’s a very gentle, pleasant, and relaxing treatment.
Reflexology is a great way to reduce symptoms of many health issues, like headaches, poor digestion, unbalanced hormones, muscular pain, blocked sinuses, allergies etc, and it is a beautiful way for calming, relaxing, and rejuvenating your mind and body.
RLD (Reflexology Lymph Drainage) stimulates the lymphatic reflexes on the feet so it will optimise its function in the body. It’s a gentle, non invasive modality, easily applied through the feet. It was developed to help reducing symptoms of Lymphoedema caused by breast cancer treatments but now knows to be helpful with many other health issues.

Clinical Nutrition is the practice of assessing a person’s dietary intake, current health status and health history to analyse if a person is consuming an adequate amount of nutrients to maintain good health. In healthy individuals, the body can successfully digest and absorb nutrients from foods allowing the body to obtain the necessary nutrients from a normal daily diet. In some circumstances (such as disease, trauma, chronic stress, chronic inflammation, long-term poor dietary choices causing over or under-nutrition, and some genetically inherited states) the body may be prevented from acquiring adequate levels of nutrients from the diet alone. When this occurs, symptoms and disease start to develop, which is the body’s way of showing us something is wrong.
As a clinical nutritionist Deb is concerned with how nutrients in your foods are processed, digested, utilised, stored & eliminated by your body, the amount of nutrients in the foods you are consuming (proteins, fats and carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients) along with how and what you eat is affecting your overall well-being.
Deb can assess your nutritional needs based on your current signs and symptoms, family and medical history, your lifestyle, current diet, your biochemistry and recent laboratory or pathology test results, this will assist her in making specific dietary, lifestyle and supplemental recommendations suited to your individual needs.
Clinical nutrition can be used as an integral part of clinical management of both acute and short-term disease, as well as playing an important role in supporting patients’ long-term with chronic health conditions, or alongside doctor prescribed treatments for medical conditions. Clinical nutrition can also assist in the prevention of illness and chronic disease development and assists in maintaining good health as we age. Clinical nutrition can help you to live a better life, from any age.
Using her knowledge of the body’s biochemical pathways and organ functions, alongside kinesiology (muscle testing) skills, and combined with her passion for food as medicine Deb can tailor a holistic and individualised healthcare plan specific to your needs.
Clinical nutrition can assist with:
